Caring for orchids is easy!
When should I water my orchid arrangement?
Water the orchid when it is nearly dry. This may take a week to 10 days or longer depending on the temperature and light conditions in your home or office. The best way to check is to move back some of the moss around your orchid and feel whether the potting medium is damp or on the dry side.
How do I water my orchid arrangement?
If possible, it is best to remove the moss around the plants so you can see what you are doing and lift the orchid out of the decorative or clay pot.Run a little tepid water around the plant being careful not to get water on the leaves and or in the crown of the plant where the leaves come together. This can lead to crown rot in a Phalaenopsis. After watering, tilt the orchid so all water drains out completely before setting the plant back into the container.
What kind of light does my arrangement need?
Indirect light is best for the orchid and greenery. However, a blooming orchid will be fine in an interior room with artificial light but immature buds may not open.
