Angelonia are heat-loving annual plants that will grow most vigorously and bloom best when the heat is on. They are plants best planted in mid-spring or later, they will really take off when the temperatures warm up. Angelonia will tolerate wet feet and a fair amount of drought as well. They are very easy to grow and require no deadheading. A bit of fertilizer or some compost in a garden bed is usually all that is needed for these plants to thrive. Don’t forget that Angelface Angelonia makes a great long lasting cut flower with a slight grape soda fragrance. It makes a wonderful ‘thriller’ for any container garden. These beauties come in a variety of sizes and colors. Here are a few suggested varieties: Angelonia angelface ‘Wedgewood Blue’(shown left), Angelonia statuesque ‘Pink’, Angelonia serena ‘White’.
