Chamaecyparis obtusa ‘Chirimen’

Chamaecyparis obtusa ‘Chirimen’ shown with Lorapetalum

This evergreen shrub is intriguing, fascinating and eye-catching.  In fact, at first glance, it’ hard to take your eyes off of one.  Their deep blue-green foliage is dense and lined on irregular upright branches, resembling bottle brushes.

Miniature shown in Fairy Garden

Creating a striking and statue like appearance, these plants bring lots of texture into the garden and should be highlighted where they can be appreciated – as a dramatic focal point, in an Asian inspired garden or the smallest specimens, in an enchanted fairy garden.  Plants range from a few inches to four feet tall.  The growth habit is natural; no pruning is necessary to keep this shrubs unique shape. Plant in sun to part shade in a place where it will get excellent drainage and this conifer will provide you with enjoyment through all the seasons.
