WE ARE RESCHEDULING OKTOBERFEST TO OCTOBER 15th**
This year we have some really awesome things set up for Oktoberfest, which you might remember as our Fall Open House! Come out on Saturday October 15th for a day of huge sales, classes, and fun!
- 9 am — Assistant Greenhouse Manager, our talented ZACH WOOD, will be teaching “Orchids are Easy”. Read more and register here. – SOLD OUT!
- 10 am — BRYCE LANE, retired professor from NC State University and UNC TV personality from “In the Garden with Bryce Lane”, will be giving a talk on “Beautiful Bushes – Super Shrubs for the Landscape”. Read more and register here.
- 11 am — Beginner’s Bonsai: Learn the basics of bonsai care! In this workshop, we’ll cover the 5 basic bonsai forms, the types of tools needed to create your own bonsai, how to cut bonsai, and the theory behind bonsai presentation. The class is $50 and each class participant will receive one pre-bonsai tree, a pot, clippers and cleaning solution to create their own bonsai in the class. - 11 am — Pond Shutdown & Winterization: Let us go over the basics of pond shutdown for the end of the season and the proper way to winterize your pond. We’ll cover plant maintenance, fish feeding guidelines and common maintenance of equipment. Register here

10am: Come visit our RISE DOUGHNUTS tent!
We’re super excited to host CAROLINA BREWING COMPANY, who will have their CBC AmBREWlance truck set up outside the greenhouse and will also be selling bottles in our beer garden down in the lower part of the nursery. You’ll find them here 11am-5pm.
THE PIEDMONT PEA PICKERS will be playing old-time string band music from 1:30pm-3pm. Listen to a preview below!
And of course we’ll be continuing our annual PUMPKIN CHUCK tradition all day. All proceeds will be donated to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina.
We’ll have a kid-friendly temporary tattoo station and pumpkin painting in the lower area of the nursery
